If you’ve just moved into your new home in OKC, you must be all excited to invite friends and family over to show them your new place. And the holiday season is the perfect time to host a housewarming and Christmas party all rolled into one. It will add festivities to a joyous occasion and will save you the time and trouble of throwing a separate housewarming party later.  Here are some tips to help you along the way:

1. Pick A Suitable Date

The very first thing you need to do is pick a date for your two-in-one party. While it’s best to throw the party soon after you’ve moved, you also need to make sure that all the rooms are cleaned and everything’s been unpacked. You would need some time to decorate the house as well. Since it’s the holiday season, check whether the date works for all the invitees.

2. Create A Detailed Guest List

Note down the names of everyone you want to invite. Start with your family and close friends and if you want to invite some colleagues, add their names to the list as well. Make sure that you invite only as many people as your budget and new house can accommodate.

3. Send out the invitations

While its best to send out invitations at least a couple of weeks in advance, if you haven’t done that already, don’t delay in sending all the invitations now. Try to schedule the party sometime between Christmas and New Year and send the invitations either via social media or email. Request your guests to RSVP.

4. Create a list of all the beverages and foods to be served

Start creating a list of everything you are going to serve at your party and keep special food needs in mind. Your RSVP request should include specific food choices like vegetarian, vegan etc. Even if you don’t do that, make it a point to have a few gluten-free, vegetarian as well as vegan dishes on the menu; that will help ensure none of your guests go hungry. If you are planning to hire a caterer for the party, plan the menu with them.

5. Decorate Your Home For The Big Party

Since the house is new, it won’t really need to be spruced-up. But you can decorate the indoor and outdoor areas, string out fairy lights etc. to add a festive look to all the spaces. Make sure that all the moving boxes are unpacked or at least stored in the basement for the day of the party.

On the day of the party, offer all your guests a complete tour of the house. Show them all the indoor and outdoor areas as well as the closets, pantries etc. The holiday season is full of good cheer and the perfect time for the dual celebration of Christmas and a housewarming party,
